Who We Are
Elmgrove is a Louisville-based nonprofit born from the lived experience of neurodivergent people, families, and clinicians. We build affirming systems — therapy, education, community, advocacy — grounded in what the research and our community actually show works.
We grew out of Trailhouse, an affirming therapy center serving Louisville’s neurodivergent community — and Elmgrove is the next step: a permanent physical home where affirming care, genuine community, and family support come together.
Our Vision
A future where neurodivergent people don’t have to mask, perform, or fight to belong. Where affirming community is a given, not a search.
Our Work
Scholarships & Financial Assistance
Reducing financial barriers to affirming therapy, educational opportunities, camps, extracurricular activities, and other supportive programs.
Education & Training
We educate educators, train professionals, and equip families — building a community that understands neurodivergent brains at every level.
Advocacy
Implement approaches, policies, and environments that honor dignity, autonomy, and authentic participation — not compliance.
Collective Community
We unite affirming providers, businesses, schools, and organizations working toward visible community change.
Why It Matters
1 in 36 children is diagnosed autistic. 1 in 10 has ADHD. Altogether, an estimated 1 in 5 people are neurodivergent — and most of the world still isn't built for them.
Therapy waitlists stretch 12 to 24 months. Parents of neurodivergent children experience measurably higher burnout than other parents. And most public spaces are simply not made for different nervous systems — leaving families without a community to call their own.
